Love Your City: New York, by John Chong

Love Your City is a series where people share stories about their city and what it means to them. Here is John's experience with New York.

On August 12, 2012, I moved out of California to New York City. Prior to COVID, everyday I felt like a transplant and most days I had to remind myself that “I’m living in NEW YORK CITY.” During COVID, I witnessed New York City shut down around me – around all of us – and despite how grim I felt, I witnessed how tough New Yorkers were everywhere I looked.

Balance: A Wellness Series

Introducing a new weekly series entitled, 'Balance'. This year, more so than ever before, it has become apparent how necessary physical, mental and spiritual wellness truly is. Living in the hustle of our daily lives with the mantra of 'work hard and then work harder' plus a global pandemic, has led to burn out and imbalance. Maintaining a consistent wellness practice has become our focus for 2021 and beyond. 'Balance' will highlight rituals that help in our journey towards more self-care, more self-love and serve as a resource for others that can support along the way. Be well.
