Peer Portraits Short: Jose from La Paz Clothing
Jose Miguel de Abreu, Co-Founder of La Paz Clothing, always greets us with a smile and a big hug. He is one of the most warm and sincere people we have met through our travels for HNDSM. We did a short interview with him in January during Paris Fashion Week.
How do you feel about your name?
I really like it because it was my father's name, too. It is very Portuguese and my great grandfather had the same name too. I like it because of the history. My great grandfather was a very creative person for the time and would draw very well. He was great with aesthetics. I never met him but he has a nice archive of drawings. It's a nice link to have with the name.
What are your travel essentials?
1. My books. I travel with 2-3 books.
2. Music.
3. A light but warm jacket.
What was your favorite moment today?
Speaking to my wife and kids over FaceTime. We've been on the road for a long time and I haven't seen them in a while.
What do you enjoy doing when you are in New York?
I like visiting our customers but apart from that, I try to look for some vintage shops. They have a different approach from the ones in Europe and I find it very inspirational.
