Balance: Breathing
One of the easiest ways to improve health and wellness is through awareness of how we breathe. Adopting daily breathing exercises is a game changer. The best part is that you can do them anywhere, at any time and all you need is a few moments to yourself. Breath work helps with reducing stress, fear or anger. It can positively impact the mind and body and increase mental focus and improve sleep.
HNDSM tip: I practice relaxed breathing every morning for one to two minutes before I begin my day. It helps quiet my mind and start my day with a blank slate. I use 4-7-8 breathing. This is the technique: inhale through your nose to a count of four, then hold your breath for a count of seven followed by exhaling completely through your mouth for a count of 8. Repeat the cycle 4-5 times.
